Thid one is completely outrageous, but that's what I love about the Snow Shark novels and the author's style. This particular one brought me enjoyment. I'm looking forward to reading more from my new go-to author!

It’s common knowledge that all great horror icons make their way to space at some point. All the greats…Critters, Jason Voorhees, Leprechaun, Killer Klowns (I know they came from space.). Like its just the next reasonable step in a memorable franchise. Now that I think of it, why haven’t Chucky or Freddy gone to that level yet? Oh well, there’s still time. Needless to say, when I saw Brian Berry’s ambitions with the sequel to the absolute frantic bloodbath that was the original Snow Shark, I was 'in like Flint.' And I got exactly what I expected. It reminded me of Doom and Project Metalbeast a bit, with a splash of Jason X, but just with walking, cyborg sharks. And Brian Berry did something that most authors fail to do with futuristic books, in that he utilized some upgraded weaponry. Too many times I’ve read of characters flying around in spaceships or living in the year 2500 or whatever, but still using modern age guns. So kudos to the author for that. The premise is fantastic and there are no memorable characters to speak of. They all just sort of exist as live bait for the sharks. But it didn’t matter. It all worked like a fine-tuned symphony orchestra. All the battling, chasing, violence, gore, and unique environments just made my toes wiggle in delight. I’ll repeat myself once again…walking, cyborg sharks in space. That’s all that matters here.

Gore Fest in Space! Small backstory: General Coy Hall cannot wait to take control of snow shark since the shark caused so much havoc and chaos on its snow attack that things go horribly wrong with his mission and everyone is scrambling trying to capture the shark! Fast forward 250 years into the future as snow shark is in a suspended state thanks to Jacob Tresler who has designed a program where he wants to have sharks for defense against enemies but when snow shark wakes up from his slumber he is not very happy and goes on another attack except this time there is no where for anyone to run as everyone is up in space! That is about all I can give on a small backstory without giving away spoilers as there is so much more to this story and if you want to know more then go read this book! Thoughts: This sequel to Snow Shark picks right up where the other book left off and right away there is plenty of blood and gore being sprayed in all directions as author, Brian Berry just throws the reader right into the mix! I had to grab my gore suit which I had to customize into a spacesuit/gore suit as if I am going to be magically transported into space while reading this book I better be damn well prepared! 😆 The gore fest becomes almost like a space bar smorgasbord throughout most of the book and there is tons of action with this story as the author keeps the throttle of the book pressed down to the floor! Go grab the first book if you haven't read it yet then read this one on a back to back shark binge and find out what all the fuss is about with this shark! Giving this book five "Space Shark Snack Attack" stars!

“Snow Shark 2: Terror in Space”, by Brian G. Berry, starts where its predecessor leaves off. There is no synopsis or summary in this review because it would spoil the story. Never a dull moment from Brian Berry. The action and gore are cranked up to intense levels. The author wastes no time with story build-up. True to Berry’s writing style, he used highly vivid descriptions to move the story along. His writing style shines as he conveys ominous moments of discovered carnage in hauntingly empty spaces. Then, it flawlessly drops the reader into the heat of the action. Descriptions and dialogue successfully create tension. It is one of those books where there is never a good place to put your bookmark. The urge to complete it is too strong. Carnage and gore are everywhere, from intestines draped to flesh resembling hamburger meat. Scents of copper, death, and foul odors awaken the reader's sense of smell. It is a total experience Unlike its predecessor, “Snow Shark 2” does not have fleshed-out characters. Honestly, it works for this story. The humans in this book exist solely to be slaughtered by Snow Shark. It works! “Snow Shark 2: Terror in Space” was a fresh take on space horror books. Why? Without using aliens, Berry created a story reminiscent of space horror movies. He used an experiment gone wrong to catapult the horror. “Snow Shark 1 and “ are my favorite Brian Berry books. I highly recommend you try them.

With Snow Shark 2, Brian Berry launches into space horror, taking his weaponized terror shark into the deep, dark cold of the cosmos. There's a sense of fun underpinning the novel, but Berry's talent for weaving atmosphere, verisimilitude, and narrative ensures that the blood-soaked tale keeps a straight face and sure voice. The story begins where Snow Shark 1 left off, with General Coy Hall ruminating over the project and its ramifications. His satisfaction is short lived. We'll leave it there. The novel then jumps centuries ahead of 1988, picking up in celestial future where experiments with the shark weapon continue. Star Legion has its hands full with the shark, and with General Hall. How's he back after hundreds of years? That's the best part of the novel, so you'll have to read to find out. With Berry, every word is well chosen, every act of violence is painted Technicolor bright, and every setting, whether its Virginia or Deep Space, sticks in your memory as if you've been there and lived it. One note: the novel works as a standalone story, even if you haven't read Snow Shark. Berry provides enough context so that the reader will not be lost without knowledge of book 1, so dive in.

What do sharks, snow, space, monkeys and cybernetic technology have in common? Wait ... you said nothing? On the contrary! Brian Berry's book 2 of Snow Shark has all of this and so much more! it is chum for shark lovers. Dive deep into the abyss of blood, gore, body parts and sharks that thrive in snow and space! Say whaaaatt? Oh yes. Jaws ain't got nothing against Snow Shark. This book has a treasure trove of colorful victims ... err ... characters, a veritable feeding frenzy of crazy, out of this world entertainment! It is so much fun. It is absurd in all the right ways!

Brain G Berry’s work in the field of horror is deep, vast, and varied, though for me, it’s his creature feature stuff that always seems to be his best work. That was made clear with 2022’s ridiculously stupid but amazingly fun “ Taking the campiness of the first one, and cranking it up to 11, Terror in Space delivers on practically every single level. From the claustrophobic horror of Alien, to the horrors of video games like Resident Evil to the tongue in check subject matter of Deep Blue Sea, Snow Shark II has something for everyone. And if that’s still not enough for you cynics, how can you ignore the idea of freaking sharks in freaking space? It’s brilliant! In all seriousness, this is, without a doubt, Brian G. Berry’s finest work. Sure it’s his most silly and most off the rails story to date, yet that’s what makes it so damn good. I don’t know if he can top it but if the trends continue, Snow Shark III is going to be masterpiece.
Snow Shark but it’s cemented with the batsh*t craziness of its sequel: “Snow Shark II”.

Snow Shark 2 is every bit as gory and fun as the first Snow Shark, only in space! Sharks, mutants, blood and guts. What more could you want? Action! Lots of mayhem and death! Oh, you want a story too? Well you’re in luck because the story is awesome too. It follows 250 years after the first Snow Shark, but first Brian catches us up on the events just after that book concluded. A contingent of soldiers have zeroed in on snow sharks location, and led by General Coy Hall, they attempt to capture it. This doesn’t go well of course. Blood! Death! However, snow shark is finally caught and everything seems cheery and bright. Nope. We are brought to the present, where the mad Jacob Tresler, the architect behind a program that is designing new shark prototypes, is escorted by the Star Legion to the planet Talos to a laboratory complex. And of course snow shark is on the ship. However, things are definitely not going well in the lab and the soldiers must contend with multiple threats. This was a great, campy and fun read that got several laughs out of me. It’s a mashup of 80’s horror, action and sci-fi and may remind you of certain games from aways back as you read. It was a great break from my usual non-stop consumption of extreme horror and I give it ❄️ 🦈 ❄️🦈❄️!

Is there anything that sounds more bad ass than Snow Shark Wars? I don’t think so. Honestly, I wasn’t sure how Berry could improve upon the original but here we are. This was all the bonkers you got from Snow Shark but Brian tried to pour a little more into the mix and ended up spilling the whole damn bag in. In the Afterword, Brian says the book was inspired by video games like Resident Evil and that little nod is apparent; a team of specialists investigating a massive lab and being attacked by multiple creatures. Brian ran that basic concept through his brain at a million miles an hour while on a sugar high apparently and cranked out an absolute bonkers ooey gooey video game of a novel. Think Starship Troopers meets Alien: Resurrection… but with like… sharks and stuff. K thx.

A Coy Hall cyborg, a cyber shark, shark monkey creatures, and of course, f*ckING SNOW SHARK 🦈 I've read some of Brian's earlier books, and you can definitely see the evolution of his writing. Brian Berry is one of those writers who came into the indie scene and blew up overnight. With a huge following in the indie horror community, people are hungry for more of his imagination and passion through his stories, which he proudly delivers as he seems to release a book for his faithful readers every other week 😂
Snow Shark was the first book I've read by Brian during Shark Week last year. When he released Snow Shark 2, I forced myself to wait until this years Shark Week to read it and I have to admit, though the original Snow Shark was great, Snow Shark 2 was f*cking amazing. Brian doesn't disappoint with his stories.
If you haven't read Snow Shark, please do it. Snow Shark continues to be one of my top favorite books, and now Snow Shark 2 is right up there next to it.

I have a bit of a soft spot for over-the-top, cheesy, sci-fi horror akin to the sorts of campy, fun B-movies that were common in the 1980's. Things like "Critters," or "C.H.U.D.," or "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" for example. There's a very particular mindset I engage when experiencing such content that generally allows me to overlook or outright ignore things that I'd normally find annoying or off-putting in a more "serious" read. That said, there is still a baseline of quality I crave and a tipping point of ridiculousness that such projects can exceed, which can sour me on them to varying degrees. Consequently, "Snow Shark 2" was a bit of a mixed bag for me. As a fan of the original book, I admittedly had some hopes and expectations about how it might unfold. Many of those panned out and ultimately left me satisfied and entertained, and there were no doubt some very cool and memorable moments throughout the read. Unfortunately, it never fully clicked for me the way the first book did for a variety of reasons, which might well be a "me" thing, so when aspects of it occasionally cropped up that I didn't love, I found myself less enamored by the overall experience than I'd thought I might be. Still, it was a solid, fun read and I liked more about it than I didn't. It just wasn't quite as much of a standout for me as the first book was. I'm giving this one a 3.25, which I'm rounding up as I wouldn't want to under-rate it.

Some cool science fiction thrown into the mix with this one. A group of armed space marine types battling mutant shark monsters? Yes please. A lot of amusing moments too, with silly outlandish science fiction fun.
Read it now, before snow shark chomps on you

The story picks up in 1988, one month after the ski resort bloodbath, and Snow Shark has been captured. Fast-forward, the year is 2265: Snow Shark was supposed to have been destroyed but is actually in secret stasis aboard a spaceship with a crew of seasoned mercenaries. Destination: a polar planet's weapons R&D facility focused on lab-directed iterative evolution. The book IS titled Terror in Space, so as expected... sh*t goes sideways! And wait till you find out what the resident mad scientist has created! He's been busy. The narrative, fully fleshed-out characters, sensory imagery, carnage, gore, and ending are quintessential BGB: imaginative, action-packed, and B-movie cinematic! This one is campy, to boot! To be continued...
